The Attorney General of Bangladesh is a person appointed by the government to serve as its chief legal adviser and its primary representative in court. He or she is the highest authority in Bangladesh with regard to the administration of justice, responsible for representing the government's interests before the courts and other legal tribunals. While the Attorney General is an appointee of the government, he or she is expected to act independently from political pressures and to uphold the law and justice of Bangladesh regardless of his or her own opinions.
